Never underestimate the importance of networking. You could meet someone when you're having a bad day and then they will think you're a dick. You should never be a dick. Doesn't matter if you're having a bad day. What happens is, that person you were a dick to, you will see them again in ten years and oh shit, they're you're brother-in-law now. Darn it. Now your brother-in-law thinks you're a dick. And he's married to your sister. So you have to see him a lot. You should have been networking but you were too busy having a bad day.
